Spending Categories


In order for us to truly analyze our expenditures, we must first be able to group them into similar categories. Knowing that we just spent $50 at Target tells us nothing particularly useful; however, knowing that our Target bill was comprised of $20 on "baby supplies," $20 on "entertainment," and $10 on "groceries," gives concrete data with which to work.

Following are some commonly-used spending categories:
